Homemade Eggless Elachi Cake


Ingredients
Plain flour (maida) - 1 cup
powdered sugar - 1 cup
elachi powder - 1 tsp
plain butter - 1/4 th cup
Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
Milk - 2 cups(boil till it comes to 1 cup milk,keep it aside and let it cool)
salt - small pinch

Method

Mixture Preparation(Batter)
1. Mix sugar,butter together and stir them pretty hard till the mixture becomes light and fluffy.

2. Now add milk and stir the mixture.

3. Now gradually add maida mixture, to the batter prepared by mixing sugar,butter & milk.
Note: Keep on repeating the process of adding maida till batter is well blended (It should look fluffy/ soft) and you find air bubble in the batter

4. Add baking powder,elachi powder,salt to the batter and again blend thoroughly.

Cake Preparation
5. Grease the baking tin (or cake tin) with little butter and dust it by sprinkling maida over greased surface evenly.

6. Pour the mixture into the greased baking tin.
Note: Baking Tin should be made of Aluminium with diameter lesser than the bottom vessel diameter.

7.Now pour the cake mixture in a baking tin and close it with a holed lid.

8.Fill 1/2 of a thick bottomed vessel with clean sand and heat the vessel.

9.once sand is heated evenly all over, Make a depression at the middle of the sand.

10.Place the vessel with the cake mixture in the depression.


11.Keep this on a medium flame and let it cook for 40 minutes. then switch off the heat.

Cooked Cake Testing
12. After 10 minutes open the lid to check whether the cake is done. Put a skewer inside the cake. (Skewer - a long thin pointed piece of metal or wood, used to test whether something is completely cooked )


13. If the mixture will not stick on it, means that cake is done.
