Aloo Paratha

Ingredients
wheat flour - 1 ½ cups
Salt - to taste
oil - 2 tsps
warm water - ½ cup approx.
Whole wheat flour - ½ cup for rolling
Oil - for frying

For filling:
Potatoes - 2 medium sized (boiled,peeled & finely grated)
Chaat Masala – 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp or as per taste
chopped Cilantro - a few

In a bowl,mix all the ingreadents and make small equal balls and keep it aside.


Method
1.Take the flour in a bowl and make a hole in the center.Add salt and 2 tsps oil.

2.Mix well and add warm water slowly and mix it well.Make a soft dough and knead well.

3.Grease the dough with few drops of oil,knead it once.Cover and let it rest for 15 mins.

4.Now Knead the dough once more,divide it into equal portions of balls.

5.Roll out the ball to a 3 to 4 inch disk.

6.Place a filling ball on the center of the disk and fold the dough around the filling ball, completely enclosing it.Pinch the dough ends together.

7.Flatten the stuffed ball and dip it into the dry flour on both sides.

8.Using a rolling pin,roll out the stuffed ball into a round shaped disk.The paratha should not be too thin.

9.Heat the Tawa on a medium heat.Place the rolled Paratha on hot tava. When you start to see puffed circles, flip it over.

10.After about few seconds,smear the Paratha with a little oil and flip over.

11.Allow the Paratha to cook for a while and flip it once again.Smear the other side with a little oil.

12.Keep flipping and cooking the paratha until the look of raw dough is gone and it looks completely cooked.It should have light brown spots all over.

13.Remove and keep the paratha in a insulated container and repeat process for remaining parathas.

14.Offer it to Lord with any Raita or Pickle.


Tip:
Grating the potatos for filling prevents from lumps.
