Palak khichdi

Ingredients
Rice – 1 cup
Mung dal – 1/4 cup
Palak - 1 bunch (wash thoroughly)
Water – 3 cups
Oil – 2 tbsps
Ghee/Clarified Butter – 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Hing – a pinch
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Red Chili Powder – to taste
curry leaves - a few

Method

1. Combine Rice and Dal,wash well and Soak in water for 15 minutes.

2.Make puree out of palak and keep it aside.

3. Heat Oil and Ghee in a pressure cooker,Add Cumin Seeds,curry leaves and allow them to sizzle.

4. Add hing,turmeric powder,redchilli powder and stir once. Add palak puree and allow it to cook for few minutes.

5.Add Soaked rice and dal,water,salt and pressure cook for 1 whistle and simmer for 5 minutes.
