Bellam Pongal
Ingredients
Rice – 1 cup(wash thoroughly & keep it aside)
Jaggery – 1 1/2 cup grated/minced
Milk – 1/2 ltr
Cashew nuts and raisins – for garnishing
Ghee/butter - for frying
Cardamom pods – for flavor
Method
1.Heat ghee in a kadai,fry dry fruits,tranfer it to another plate.
2.now pour milk in same kadai,boil the milk.Add rice to the boiling milk and cover it.keep stirring occationally.
3.Now add jaggery to it and continue to stir.
4.Once the rice is cooked well,add cardomon pods,mix well for about two minutes.
5.Turn off heat and garnish with fried dryfruits.
6.Bellam pongal is now ready and can be served hot or chilled.
