Mavidikaya Pappu/Mango Dal



Ingredients
Toor dal - 1 cup
water - 3 1/2 cups
Raw Mango - 1 medium size(chopped)
Green chillies - 2 slit
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1\4 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil/ghee - 1/2 tsp

Tadka/Popu
Oil/ghee - 1 tbsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Red chillis - 2
hing - a pinch
curry leaves - a few

Method
1. Heat a pressure cooker in medium heat,throw in the dal,water,mango pieces,green chilli,turmeric,coriander powder,chilli powder,1/2 tsp oil and cover with the lid.

2.Pressure cook for 1 whistle and simmer for 10 minutes.Turn off flame and let the pressure completely comes out.

3.Heat Ghee in a kadai, add tadka and pour into the cooked dal.

4.Add salt and mix well,cook for 2 minutes again and switch off.
