Sponge Gourd Curry/Nethi Beerakayi Kura


Ingredients
Sponge Gourd - 3(peeled and chopped into small cubes)
Green chillies - 1 (cut into half)
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves – for garnishing

Tadka/Popu
oil or ghee - 2 tsps
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
red chilli - 1
Curry leaves - a few

Method
1.Heat Oil in a cooking vessel.

2.Add tadka/popu and fry for few seconds.

3.Add turmeric powder,sponge gourd pieces and allow it to cook until the pieces are soft.

4.Add salt and chilli powder and cook for few mins.

5.Turn off the heat and garnish with coriander leaves.
