Lemon Cucumber Dal/Dosakayi Pappu

Ingredients
Toor dal - 1 cup
water - 3 cups
Lemon Cucumber - 1 medium size(Peel,wash,deseed & diced)
Green chillies - 3 to 4 (slit)
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Haldi powder - 1\4 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Oil/ghee - 1/2 tsp

Tadka/Popu
Oil/ghee - 1 tsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Red chillis - 2
hing - a pinch
curry leaves - a few

Method
1.Take a pressure cooker,throw in the dal,water,oil and pressure cook for 1 whistle in medium heat and turn the flame to low,cook for 3 -4 mins.Turn off the flame and let the pressure comes out.

2.Now add in Cucumber pieces,green chilli,haldi,salt,chilli powder in the cooked dal and Pressure cook for 3 whistles in medium.Turn the flame to low and let it cook for another 3-4 mins. Turn off the flame.leave it for some time till the pressure leaves.

3.Meanwhile heat ghee in a small kadai,add tadka/popu and fry till nice aroma comes.Now add this to the cooked dal.

4.Serve with Rice.
