Medu Vada



Ingredients
Urad dal - 2 cups
idly soda - 1/2 sp(optional)
salt - as per taste
Oil for deep frying

Method
1.Soak urad dal for 45 mins.

2.Grind the soaked urad dal in a mixer/grinder by adding very little cool water.

3.Take the thick paste out of grinder,add salt and idly soda to it.


4.Take a scoop of paste in your hand and make a hole of the batter with your middle finger and gently drop it in the hot oil.

5.Continue this process of making vada.Fry them in low flame till it turns golden colour and take it off from the oil.

6.soft medu Vada is ready.coconut chutney is the best combination for vada.

Note:Urad vada takes long time to fry so don't hurry other wise you will end up with raw batter inside when you cut it open.
