Ingredients
Raw rice - 1 cup
Mung dal - 1 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Red chillis - 2
Curry leaves - a few
Crushed Black Peppercorns - 1 tsp
Cashew nuts - 2 tbsp
grated ginger - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Ghee - 1 tbsp +1 tbsp + 2 tbsps
water - 5 cups
Method
1.Heat 1 tbsps ghee in a pressure cooker,add washed moongdal and roast for a minute.
2.Add in the washed rice and stir for few seconds.
3.Add salt,water,close the lid the pressure cook for 1 whistle and turn the heat to low and simmer for about 3 minutes.Turn off heat.
4. Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in another pan,add cashew nuts and roast till they are slightly brown.
5.Add cumin seeds,black pepper corns,ginger,curry leaves seeds and stir for a second and turn off the heat.
6.Mix in the roasted ingredients into the cooked rice and lentils.
7.Lastly add 2 tbsp of ghee and mix everything well.
8.This goes well with coconut chutney.
9.Offer to Lord and Serve.
