Bitter Gourd Curry/Kakarakayi Kura


Ingredients
Bitter gourd - 250 gms
turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry Powder - 2 tsp(or to taste)
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Peanut Powder - 3 tsps
Saseme Powder - 3 tsps
Hing - a pinch
salt - as per taste
Sugar - 2 tsps or to taste
Oil - 3 tsps

Method
1.Wash,cut the ends,remove the hard seeds & Chop into medium size pieces.Add 1/2 tea spoon salt, mix and leave it aside for 10 mins.Add a cup of water.Squeeze and remove the water.This reduces the bitterness.

2.Heat the oil in a kadai,Add Bitter gourd pieces,cover the lid and cook until the pieces are tender.(Make sure u stir in between to avoid them burning)

3.Add turmeric powder,hing,coriander powder,jeera powder,red chilli powder,mix well and let it cook for few mins.

4.Now add peanut powder,sasame powder,sugar,mix well for few more mins and its done!!

5.Serve.
